When the French Republican calendar was in use (1794-1806) they used 10 hours in a day, 100 minutes in an hour, and 100 seconds in a minute, as part of a wider decimalisation programme. Clocks were made to this description but they were only used in a few cities and the idea did not catch on."

Please remember that the purpose of your education is not to give you facts, but to teach you how to find the information you need when you need it. You can learn to do this.
Try an internet search on "history of clocks." Or, if you want to be really cool, go to the library. If you aren't sure how to use the library, ask the librarian. In some schools it's called the "media center."
Have fun!"

Or go opposite of the "tech" look and do a kids clock, bright crayon colors, no straight lines for the hands on the clock, scribble coloring background graphics. Just start laying things out and find a look that comes together.
Good luck!"

if you're not very creative you could make a simple wall clock just by cutting out an elegant shape out of wood or plastic to make your board, and then make a stencil by cutting into a piece of paper (like making a snowflake!) and spray paint through the snowflake stencil onto the board, maybe mark out the hours with buttons or something?
good luck! :0)"
daisyfay replied: "How about a "FAT CAT" clock ? You will need two paper plates -- one for the body and the other for the head. Staple them together, one on top of the other. The top piece would be the head, fashioned with ears and face. The bottom piece would be round and where the clock would be.
Paint the cat bright yellow and orange-brown -- maybe with stripes. Your clock would have black numbers and hands. Outline your cat's features with black. At the bottom, you could fashion a tail and staple that to the body.
If you wanted something simpler, you could use the plate as only the cat's face. The lighter and brighter the cat the better the clock will stand out."

He took one of his interests - soccer, and made the goalkeeper's hands reaching out for the ball in the goal mouth be the minute hands, and the legs the hours.
